Exhusted

As I pulled into my driveway at 1:30am, I realized that if I made to trip to WB this evening, I would still only be halfway home at 1:30am tonight. There was no way I could survive a 6hr trip. If it was next weekend, perhaps, but not the way I am feeling today. I'm exhusted. I chose not to set my alarm to check Ticketmaster. I did check when I woke up. Best available floor seat was way in the back. Certainly not worth it.

The only thing that got me out of bed was the call from Kelly who was thrilled with her Reflex voicemail. It made her day.

Had a great time last night. The seats were great and so was the company. Different setlist from Philly. One less song. Same rockin' show.

It's now 9pm and they are about to hit the stage. The withdraw is killing me. At least drug addicts can go to a street corner for their next fix....

I'm on the hunt, I'm after you

T-8 hrs until DD hits the stage!!! I'm bummed that TL can't make it, but hundreds of lives may be saved as a result, so I guess it evens out.

I am seriously considering a 3hr (one way) drive to Wilkes-Barre tomorrow night. Great seats are released day of the show, so if I can get a floor seat within Simon snogging range, especially on JT's side, I may jump in car and head north. Insane, maybe, but the WB ticket would be $30 less than tonight's and a MUCH MUCH better view. It's also my only chance to get a seat that good. (There was a seat in the 12th row, JT's side available for tonight, but I thought it might be just a LITTLE rude to get the arena and announce I was ditching LDS and the player-to-be-named-later for a better view!)

Wild Boys ALWAYS shine!

Happy Opening Day!!

What a great weekend! Duran and the return of Daylight Savings Time!!!

Duran was FANTASTIC in Philly! Best show I've ever seen! They were all HOT. Simon was very chatty. For the first time EVERY at a concert, I could actually understand everything he said to the audience. I knew every word to every song, also a rarity, even at a Duran show. It would have been more fun if someone had gone with me, but learned quickly how much my friends and family cared about sharing a very special experience with me. I certainly don't expect people to fly across the country to join me or go to more than one show, but isn't it better than spending the evening doing nothing? It wasn't outdoors or anything. I learned I can have just as much fun on my own. I can also find my way to Philly. (Of course, now Steve Finley is finally back in the AL, so going to Phillies games isn't necessary.) Still, it would be nice to SOMEONE to spend time with, everyone once in a while. At least I know Simon, John, Roger, Nick and Andy are always there for me. I'm sorry I bother people with things that are so trivial to everyone else, but they are important to me. I would appreciate it if every once in a while someone could at least fake some interest.

Back to the show. I LOVED "Hold Back The Rain". I loved everything! The new stuff sounded great live and fits in perfectly with the classics. At the end of the show, Simon introduced the band. ("Play that f*cking bass, John!!") When he comes to his own intro, he comes down into the crowd and picks a girl to give him the "best intro on the planet". (I was in no danger of being this girl, but I was close enough that I thought, 'what would I do if he came up here?!') She said, "the sexist man alive, Simon LEBON!", then he kissed her. No mere peck on the cheek either! Full - on, tongue-down-the-throat style. I'm guessing Yasmin was not at this gig! I still can't stop thinking about it and I'm a JT girl! Sorry, JT. The leather pants are great and the new hair is too, you certainly haven't lost anything. But there is just something about Simon these days... he finally caught up to you! And don't look now, but Roger is not far behind! And he's available!

It was a great night. Especially since I was feeling like crap and didn't even want to go as I walked out the door. It was the least excited I have ever been for a Duran show. Turned out the be the greatest show ever. After all, as Simon says, "Duran Duran is a band designed to make people feel good." Well, Simon, it's working. And I tried to make "noise" as you commanded, but I thought it was more important to remain concious. Screaming and cold medicine are not a great mix. Can't wait until Friday!! Simon, you may want to get that restraining order now.... L & T, bring bail money... ;-)

Duran Lyric of The Day: "Okay, go off and wander. I'm guilty just the same. Sometimes you're needed badly so please come back again." Hold Back The Rain
